Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Prepare to undertake routine work activities
   • Instructions for work activities, including permits to work, are identified and confirmed, in accordance with workplace procedures
2. Work, Health and Safety(WHS)/Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) procedures are identified and confirmed for use, in accordance with workplace procedures
3. Tools, equipment and Personnel Protective Equipment are identified and checked to ensure they are safe to use, in accordance with workplace procedures
4. Appropriate personnel are consulted, in accordance with workplace procedures, to ensure work is coordinated at site with others
5. Resources and materials are confirmed and obtained, in accordance with workplace procedures
6. Schedule of work, including practices for working safely such as the use of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), manual handling techniques and personal protective equipment are confirmed, in accordance with workplace procedures
7. Carry out work activities
   • Hazards are identified and risk controls are implemented, in accordance with workplace procedures
8. Schedule of work is followed, in accordance with workplace procedures, to ensure work activities are completed
9. Work practices, applicable to electricity supply industry, are applied, in accordance with workplace procedures
10. Instructions are sought, if required, in accordance with workplace procedures, from appropriate personnel when unplanned events occur
11. Continuous checks on work quality are undertaken, in accordance with workplace procedures
12. Check completed workactivities
    • Final checks are made to ensure work conforms with instructions and requirements
13. Appropriate personnel are notified of work completion, in accordance with workplace procedures
14. Tools, equipment, resources and materials are cleaned, checked and returned to storage, in accordance with workplace procedures
15. Work area is cleaned and made safe, in accordance with workplace procedures, using sustainable energy practices
16. Records are updated, in accordance with workplace procedures
